Obituary of Elizabeth Keogh

Elizabeth “Betty” Keogh, 90, of Morristown, NJ, passed away on August 10, 2015 in Morristown, NJ. Born in Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland, she graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Midelton. Betty then moved to the United States in 1957 and has resided in Morristown, NJ for the past 15 years. Betty was a homemaker. She was devout Catholic, and a member of Christ the King Church in New Vernon, NJ. Betty also spent her time with the Madison Songsters using her beautiful voice to lift the spirits of residents at various local nursing homes. Betty is survived by her devoted children, George Keogh of Morristown, NJ; John Keogh and his wife, Alice, of North Arlington, NJ; Dr. Michael Keogh of New Orleans, LA; and Mary Keogh-Schmaling and her husband, Bill, of Morristown, NJ. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kathleen Hickey and her husband, John; Dr. George Keogh, Jr. and his wife, Leah; Jessica Barbosa and her husband, Paul; Daniel Keogh and his wife Lauren; Sean Keogh and his wife, Lynn, Katie Keogh, and Luke Keogh; as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Finn, Alana, John, Paddy, Kelly, Dylan, and Colin. She is also survived by a brother, three sisters, nieces and nephews in Ireland. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Joseph, in 2006, and her son, Patrick, Jr. in 2011. Visiting will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 4-8pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Funeral Mass for Betty will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00am at Church of Christ the King, 16 Blue Mill Road, Morristown (New Vernon), NJ. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cheshire Ireland, and mailed to: Rathfredagh Cheshire Home, Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland, in memory of her son Patrick Joseph Keogh Jr., who was cared for and loved by the staff for over 10 years.
