Obituary of Marian Lewis

Marian Lewis, 78, formerly of Washington, PA, Parsippany, NJ, and Ft. Myers, FL passed away on August 8, 2015 after a 7 year battle with Parkinson’s. Born in Houston, PA, Marian graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1955 and married the love of her life, Bob Lewis, in 1956. After dedicating her life to raising her children and being active in her church community, Marian spent 10 years working for AT&T, including working in Iran. An avid traveler, Marian visited all 50 States and over 30 countries. Marian taught herself to sew at age 9. She shared her passion through teaching and lecturing for over 50 years. A longtime member of the American Sewing Guild, Marian was a published author on sewing and fitting techniques. Marian leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Bob, her devoted children, Robert of Horsham, Pa; and Kim Smith (husband Alan) of Randolph, NJ. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Adam, Beverlee, Victoria, and Alex; and her siblings, Jackie Thompson, Betty Markavich, Alan Miller, and Dennis Miller. A Memorial Service for Marian will be held on Sept. 27 at 2:00 pm at The Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains, 400 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment will be private.
